Driven by multi-series champion Scott Pruett, the Truesports 91C is one of only a few Indy cars built in the United States since the 1970's. It was designed by engineer Don Halliday and assisted by aerodynamicist Gary Grossenbacher.


This Truesports 91C - Judd was driven in the 1991 Indy car season by Scott Pruett. Pruett's early professional career began with Jack Roush Racing. Driving for Roush, he won 3 SCCA Trans Am and IMSA GTO championships.
In 1989, Truesports hired him to replace the departing 2 time Indy car champion Bobby Rahal. In early 1990, he was suffered an season ending injury from a crash that took place during pre-season testing. Pruett, now recovered from his injuries returned to the team 1991. The Truesports 91C debuted that year powered by the Judd AV engine. Results were lackluster. For 1992, the team switched to the Ilmor Chevrolet 265A engine. Again Pruett's results we not race winning, and with the departure of long time sponsor Budweiser, the door closed at the 1992. Pruett moved on to Patrick Racing where he scored his 2 Indy car wins, one being the Michigan 500.
Pruett concluded his Indy car career at the end of 1999. Then he returned to SCCA Trans Am, dabbled in NASCAR, IMSA ultimately winding up Gand Am where he went onto to win 5 Championships.
