In 2002 while still competing in the CART series, Chip Ganassi Racing began their first full season in IRL.
In 2002 while still competing in the CART series, Chip Ganassi Racing began their first full season in IRL. They campaigned this GForce GF05 with Jeff Ward driving. This car finished 9th in 2002 Indianapolis 500 and was the race winner a week later in Boomtown 500 at Texas Motor Speedway. That would be the highwater mark for their first IRL season. Ward would score 11th in the championship that year.
This GForce GF05 is powered by a Chevrolet GEN II engine with an Xtrac 195 gearbox. It is a complete, running car and ready to be driven. It is equipped with the following:
