This is Tiga GC287, chassis #350. It was built in 1987.

At Le Mans, the car ran consistently inside the top ten and was as high as eighth place with

two hours remaining when the crankshaft failed. Following the Le Mans retirement, the car was fitted with a 3.3-litre Cosworth-Ford DFL V8 for the remainder of the 1987 season. In 1988 it passed to Robbie Stirling and Ross Hyett for Group C2 endurance racing.

In 1989 the car was exported to the United States without its Cosworth engine and was fitted

with a Buick V6 for IMSA GTP competition,where it was campaigned by Sydney “Buzzy”

Smith of Orlando, Florida — including appearances at Sebring and Daytona.

Fully restored by GDL Racing to historic specification, with HTP approval secured and

confirmed competitive on track throughout the 2024 and 2025 seasons. Documentation accompanying the car includes current crack-test certificates, fuel cell certification from Premier Fuels (valid to 2029), and a Lifeline fire-extinguishing system certified to 2033. 

The DTA engine management system (installed 2007) was updated by GDL

Racing in 2024 to enable full telemetry download for driver and car performance analysis,

paired with an onboard camera for synchronized data review. A new AIM display was fitted in

2024 for live data to the driver. The car is supplied with operating manuals for the Stack ST400 tachometer and gearbox ratio change procedures, plus extra long-circuit gear ratios for tracks such as Le Mans.

The car is currently presented and actively raced in a livery inspired by its 1987 Le Mans 24

Hours scheme (“Abdex,” #181/#101 depending on event). For 2025 HTP homologation

purposes, the car was temporarily presented to scrutineering in an alternate white/blue livery;

this is documented in the car’s technical file alongside the relevant Peter Auto / ACO

scrutineering approvals. The car can be run in either scheme at no cost — the HTP is tied to

the chassis and technical specification, not to the livery design. This is noted here for full

transparency ahead of any pre-purchase inspection
