This car was acquired in1 999 from Shadow founder Don Nicholson as a restoration project. It was assigned chassis number DN9-1/B(R).

This car was acquired in1 999 from Shadow founder Don Nicholson as a restoration project. It was assigned chassis number DN9-1/B(R). The R denotes that it is a re-creation from a tub of unknown history. It was originally restored in the paint and graphics scheme of Samson Shag car driven by Jan Lammers in the 1979 Argentine and Brazilian Formula 1 races. The restoration was completed in 2002. The original bodywork was located and purchased in 2010. The paint and graphics were changed to the newer version.

The car has since been rebuilt since the restoration. The engine and gearbox are fresh. It has new wiring and plumbing.
