This is Lotus 70B-01 powered by a Ryan Falconer built Ford Dry Deck engine, It was built in 1971 and George Follmer drove it in it's debut at the Ontario Motor Speedway's Questor Grand Prix. It was then acquired by BRE for the 1972 season. With John Morton driving, BRE entered the series 4th event at Road America. The 5th round was at Brainerd were they finished 29th. At Road Atlanta they scored a 4th place. Running through a flooded area of the track on the slowdown lap, Morton crashed the car. BRE could not afford to repair the car and sold it.
It is in the process of repair/restoration. The car does have a fresh Falconer engine but does not have a gearbox. Indy Competition Services can complete the restoration for the new owner. For more information call us at (765)335-2057 or email us at: info@indycompetition.com.
