The Lotus 59B was designed by Dave Baldwin in 1969. Lotus produced a completely new design for the1969 season. It was a relatively complex square-tube spaceframe, with orthodox outboard suspension, following the popular Brabham model rather than the inboard springs and monocoque design of all Lotus's larger formula cars. Typical for the construction were rear brakes directly in the airstream (similar to the Lotus 49 F1). The front brakes were nearly completly covered from the front rims. Special was the very nice designed front looking like a shark mouth. The engine in the Lotus 59B is the 1.6 Liter Cosworth FVA and it utilzes the Hewland FT200 gearbox. Beginning in 1969, was the year of the high rear wings and sometimes also front wings. The Lotus 59B used that season used the high wing and later a low wing configuration.

This 59B chassis #21. It was one of 3 produced and the only one still in existence. The FIA HTP valid till 2032. Completely restored and race ready with 2 extra sets of wheels! Both high and low wings are included. Continious history with a lot of files and period documents.
