This is Lola T9000 #Hu21 It was originally built to utilize an Ilmor Chevrolet 265A engine for Newman/Haas Racing and driver Mario Andretti. Andretti qualified on the outside of the second row (sixth) for the 1990 Indianapolis 500, its debut race, but was a DNF and classified 27th after engine failure in the race.
He raced that car for the remainder of 1990, a total of 14 races, with second place finishes at both Portland and Mid-Ohio. In addition, Andretti led the Portland, Meadowlands, Toronto, Denver and Mid-Ohio races; and qualified on the outside of the second row at the Meadowlands and Laguna.
At the end of 1990, the car was retired to show car status, and it was purchased by Honda prior to the 1994 season for dealership display purposes. In 1995 the graphic scheme was changed to the scheme utilized by Tasman Motorsports and driver Andre Ribiero.
This is a rolling chassis with no engine, electronics, springs, or dampers. Other parts may be missing.
