This Coyote Daytona Prototype was originally built in 2007 to use a Porsche V-8.Troy Fils from Spirit of Daytona would know every detail of the history but to the best of my knowledge, JC France was the driving force behind the Porsche V8 program. Being a part of the Nascar family, they preferred the sound of the V8 versus the standard 6 cylinder that the Porsche backed teams ran. Lozano Bros Porting built the engine out of a Porsche Cayenne V8. Porsche was not happy that they did it so Porsche would never recognize it as an actual Porsche powered vehicle!! That is probably what it is most known for a the car that pissed off Porsche. It still has the Porsche V8 in it but it has bellhousings for GM as well.
Guy Cosmo drove the car mostly but obviously there were a number of drivers that shared driving duty for the longer races. It was the AMA sponsored car which had three professional motorcycle riders race with Guy Cosmo in 2009 Daytona 24. Those riders were Scott Russell, Jason Pridmore and Jeff Ward. In 2010 or 2011, they switched to Chevy power with Guy Cosmo and Antonio Garcia as the main drivers.
It has a rather large spares package, it nice package for $300,000. Also available are a tractor, trailer, timing stand, fuel rig and pit box for $415,000. This would make an excellent package for SVRA and HSR, particularly the Daytona 24Hr and Sebring 12Hr Classic events.
