In 1968,  A.J. Foyt Racing built two new Coyote's for that season. A.J. drove car #1 and this car, #84 was driven by Carl Williams. Both cars were powered by Four Cam Ford engines. Carl started 28th and crashed out earning 15th place. The car was returned to the Foyt Racing shop in Houston were it was repaired by well known fabricator Eddie Kuzma. The car did not appear again until the season finale at Riverside. It was re-numbered #1 and was driven by Foyt himself where he started 8th and finished 20th.

For 1969 it was heavily modified. The atmospheric engine was replaced with the turbocharged version of the Four Cam Ford. George Snider drove the car in the 1969 Indianapolis 500, starting 15th and finishing 16th.
This car is a restoration project. The engine in it is a display Four Cam Ford. It is missing the Hewland LG500 gearbox.
