The 1980s
We began our racing career in 1983 with the Jim McElreath Indy car team. His Penske PC-7 copy appears below. Throughout the '80s, we worked in Indy car racing, IMSA GTP and GTO, SCCA Can-Am, Trans-Am, Super Vee, and Formula Atlantic. In this decade, we worked with drivers Jim McElreath, Peter Kuhn, John Paul Jr., Bill Adam, Whitney Ganz, Jochen Mass, John Morton, Mark Smith, Al Unser Jr., Paul Newman, Jim Fitzgerald, Tom Cruise, and Walter Payton.

Notable Cars and Drivers of the 1980s:
Jim McElreath Copy Penske PC-7 – Indy car powered by a Cosworth Ford DFX engine.
March 802 (1984 SCCA Can-Am Season) – Powered by a Hart 420R, driven by Byron Walker.
Tiga 285 – Powered by a Mazda 13B, drivers Ron Nelson and Howard Siegel of Western Empire S&L.
Conte Racing March 85G Buick – Drivers included John Paul Jr., Bill Adam, Whitney Ganz, and Ken Madren.
BFG Porsche 962 – Driven by Jim Busby, John Morton, Darin Brassfield, Jochen Mass, Jan Lammers, and Derek Warwick.
Domino's Pizza Team Shierson March 87C Cosworth DFX – Driver Al Unser Jr.
Newman Sharp Racing 300ZXs – Driven by Paul Newman, Jim Fitzgerald, Tom Cruise, and Scott Sharp. Scott Sharp won the SCCA GT-1 Championship in 1987 and 1988.
Newman-Sharp Oldsmobile (1989) – One car built in-house, the other by Peerless Racing. Drivers included Paul Newman, Scott Sharp, and Walter Payton.
Newman Sharp Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera (IMSA Luk Clutch Challenge) – Driven by NFL Hall of Fame member Walter Payton.
The 1990s
The '90s saw us returning to open-wheel racing in CART's Indy Lights series and later SCCA Formula Atlantic. After a stint at Pratt & Miller, we ran the drivetrain department for Brix Oldsmobile's championship-winning IMSA GTS program. A return to SCCA Trans Am in 1996 was followed by a return to Indy car racing for the rest of the decade. Drivers of this decade included Justin Bell, Eric Bachelart, Stephan Proulx, Darin Brassfield, Irv Hoerr, Scott Sharp, Robbie Buhl, and Richie Hearn.

Notable Cars and Events of the 1990s:
Brix Racing IMSA GTS Program (1994-1995) – Won several events mid-season and secured a championship with the Oldsmobile Aurora engine in 1995. Drivers included Irv Hoerr, Darin Brassfield, Price Cobb, Tommy Riggins, Calvin Fish, and R.K. Smith.
Pickett Racing SCCA Trans Am (1996) – Final year of Chevy's factory-supported Camaro program. Drivers included Greg Pickett, Scott Sharp, and RJ Valentine.
Beck Motorsports Indy Racing League (1996) – Two Lola T9400s powered by Cosworth Ford XB engines, driven by Hideshi Matsuda and Robbie Buhl, who finished 8th and 9th.
Chaparral's Jim Hall Retirement (1996-1997) – Team ownership transferred to Gerald Davis in 1997. Driver Gaulter Salles competed with a Reynard 97I powered by a Cosworth Ford XD.
Della Penna Motorsports (1998-1999) – Swift 009 (1998) and Swift 010 (1999) powered by the Cosworth XD and Toyota Phase 5/6 engines. Driver Richie Hearn secured multiple top-10 finishes.
The 2000s
2000 brought a new experience in ALMS with Johansson-Matthews, the Reynard 2KQ, and the opportunity to race at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. After 2000, a return to Indy car racing took up most of the decade. Beginning in 2008, we traveled throughout the sport doing contract work, including vintage racing in HSR, and competing in IRL, Firestone Indy Lights, Formula Atlantic, Grand-Am Daytona Prototype, GT, and even NASA club racing. Among the drivers of this period were Stefan Johansson, Guy Smith, Max Wilson, Alex Barron, PJ Jones, Stephan Gregoire, Matt Plumb, Al Unser III, Felipe Giaffone, and Mario Moraes.

Notable Cars and Events of the 2000s:
Johansson-Matthews Racing (2000) – New team debuting the Reynard 2KQ Judd V-10 at Daytona 24 Hours. Drivers included Stefan Johansson, Guy Smith, Jim Matthews, and Mark Simo.
Arciero-Blair Racing (2001) – Started with year-old Lola and Ilmor engines before switching to Cosworth XF. Drivers Max Wilson and Alex Barron.
Blair Racing IRL (2002) – Dallara-Chevy combo, Alex Barron contended for an Indy 500 win and won at Nashville, finishing 4th in the championship.
Beck Motorsports Indy 500 Entries (2003-2007) – Managed team operations with Dallara and GForce chassis, using Honda and Chevy engines. Drivers included Shinji Nakano, PJ Jones, Stephan Gregoire, Arie Luyendyk Jr., and Alex Barron.
2008 and Beyond
Since 2008, we have been contracting to racing teams, covering everything from IRL to HSR vintage events and a brief foray into NASA club racing. Some of our clients include Zak Brown's vintage collection at United Autosport, Dale Coyne Racing, TMR, Playa Del Racing, Gainsco, Autohaus, Genoa Racing, and others.
