DSR-1 INDYCAR EX-DOMINO'S TEAM SHIERSON,
EX-DANNY SULLIVAN - $100,000
In 1984 Domino's Team Shierson embarked on an ambitious plan to construct their own cars. They built three DSR-1's. The car was designed by Ian Reed and was powered by a Cosworth Ford DFX engine. Danny Sullivan signed to drive it for the 1984 season and an additional Indy 500 entry for Johnny Rutherford.
It's debut at Long Beach was typical of efforts such as this. At Phoenix, Sullivan scored a 6th place. At Indianapolis, the car was way off the pace of the competition. Sullivan qualified the car, but it was withdrawn in favor of a new Lola T900. Rutherford entirely walked away from his. It later reappeared at Milwaukee, finishing 16th.
This car is completely restored, running car. Since restoration, the engine and gearbox have 3 hours of usage. This is a very nice, easy to operate Indy car for vintage events. For more information call us at (765)335-2057 or email us at: info@indycompetition.com

1972 COYOTE INDY CAR EX- A.J. FOYT - $old
This A.J. Foyt Enterprise's Coyote III Model 1972 made its debut at the 1972 Indianapolis 500, livered as the ITT Thompson Special. It was driven by A.J. Foyt Jr. and had A.J. Foyt Sr. as its crew chief.
The car was powered by a A.J. Foyt Enterprises built 161 cubic inch turbocharged Ford 4 Cam engine. The transmission was a Hewland LG-500 4 speed. The chassis is a monocoque design, built in Foyt’s shop by Eddie Kuzma. It is the only Coyote car built utilizing its design.
The car did not fare well in the 1972 Indy race. Foyt placed 25th after experiencing engine problems. It started 17th.
Shortly after the Indy 500, Foyt was involved in an accident, was immobilized for several months, and sold the car to Lee Brayton of Coldwater Michigan. Mr. Brayton, no stranger to Indy car racing, campaigned the car for the rest of the 1972 season. His best finish was 10th at the Michigan 200.
Brayton continued to race the car in 1973. He again achieved a 10th place finish at the Texas World Speedway race in April 1973. In May 1973, he took the car to Indy but was unable to make a qualifying speed. In fact, several drivers tried to get the car up to speed but all failed. Dick Simon eventually wrecked the car in it's last attempt to make the race.
After the wreck, Brayton took the car back to his shop and reconfigured it. He purchased front and rear suspension parts from Dan Gurney’s Eagle Racing Group, AAR. He also purchased body work that included the front wing and cowl section. The car didn’t reappear until the 1974 Indy 500.
By 1974 the 1972 Coyote was a backup car for Lee Brayton’s team. He entered it in the 1974 Indy 500 with Rick Muther as driver, Eisenhour Racing as sponsor. It was painted yellow and carried the number 61. Muther qualified the car 24th. He finished a disappointing 27th after experiencing an engine problem.

Jerry Eisert built this car in 1969 for Marvin Webster of Webster gear fame. It seems Jerry Eisert was Webster's go to guy when ha wanted a car built. Jerry Grant later drove it to 4th place at Continental Divide. It appeared a couple more times during the 1970 season. It's last race was 1971 SCCA Formula 5000 event at Seattle with Lothar Motsenbacher driving.
It remained in Webster's hands until it was purchased in 1987. It then underwent restoration by J&L Fabrications. It has seen some action in vintage events since coming out of restoration in 1988.

RARE! 1 OF 2 SHELBY TURBINE INDY CARS- $INQUIRE
This is a rare piece of Carroll Shelby and Indianapolis 500 history. This Ken Wallis designed car used a 1325 HP General Electric T58 turbine engine. This car was driven by Dennis Hulme. The #66 car was for team mate Bruce McLaren. Both cars were withdrawn the day before qualifying. This is a complete, running car.
Here is how the story goes. In 1967 Andy Granatelli of STP Corporation commissioned Ken Wallis to design a 4 wheel drive turbine powered Indycar. This car was driven by Parnelli Jones and dominated the race. It suffered mechanical failure in the final laps, handing A.J. Foyt his 3rd "500" win.
For 1968 Granatelli took this concept to Colin Chapman at Lotus and the Lotus 56 was born. Meanwhile Wallis took his concept and paid a visit to Carroll Shelby. Shelby convinced Clothier Botany 500 and Goodyear Tire to fund the project. The talented Dennis Hulme and Bruce McLaren were hired to drive the cars. The cars had tremendous acceleration but were handful to drive in traffic. On the Friday before the first day of qualifying Shelby's Phil Remington something was not right with the car. He discovered the turbine inlet size far exceeded the legal limit. Not wanting to be a part of an illegal effort perpetrated by Wallis, Remington immediately resigned. Carroll Shelby withdrew the cars immediately. Bruce McLaren went home and did not return to Indy until 1970 with his own McLaren M15. stp lotus 56 indycar ex-graham hill - $inquire
We have had some interesting things come our way over the last couple of years, but nothing like this. Graham Hill's 1968 "Indy 500" front row starting Lotus 56-03. This was the most technologically advanced, controversial race car of the 1960's. It's creation would influence the Lotus 56B and Lotus 72 Formula 1 cars.
This unique piece of automotive history was designed by Maurice Phillipe using the Pratt & Whitney ST6N-74 turbine engine and the Ferguson 4WD drivetrain, this Lotus was in a class all of it's own at Indy in 1968. In the #60 Joe Leonard won the pole with a new 4 lap speed record of 171.599. In the above #70 Graham Hill set the single lap record of 171.208. But success would elude them and right after the "500" the rule makers came for them. Some of this car's technology continued on for a brief period. The Ferguson 4WD system would be used again on the Lotus 63 Formula 1 car and the Lotus 64 Indycar.
This car received a meticulous restoration under the direction of 2 of the men who where their at the inception of the Lotus 56. Clive Chapman, son of Lotus founder Colin Chapman and Vince Granatelli son of STP's famous Andy Granatelli supervised this magnificent job.
